Your personal guide to Suffolk
Restaurants:
Our Locals:
Our local pub, perfect for some pub grub and a local pint. A few minutes drive, just over the a12.
A FANTASTIC FARM-SHOP SHOWCASING ALL THINGS LOCAL WITH A CAFE GOOD FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH.
Framlingham (6 miles):
A brilliant Italian owned by Ruth Watson, the famous hotel inspector. Food is cooked beautifully in their woodfired oven and the service rarley misses a beat.
If we're not on the farm, we're usually at the Station. Ask for a pint of Vic and some pork scratchings. Need we say anymore.
Aldeburgh (14 miles):
Sam and his team run a well known bistrot at the top of the high st. A consistent, locally clad menu showcasing food made with love. Plenty of great wine. Brimming with locals.
Aldburgh's busiest pub, with locals spilling out on to the street at all hours. Great for a pint of Adnams. Pizza in the beer garden and you're also allowed to bring in your fish and chips.
Both fish and chip shops are owned by the same company so just head for the shortest queue. Many say these are the best fish and chips in the country, hard to disagree when enjoyed with a glass of champagne on the sea wall.
Things to do:
A quaint one screen cinema. Watch films in a traditional setting, with a bottle of wine!
A 12th Century fortress surrounded by parkland and a lake.
A cafe and coastal walks. Dog friendly on the walks though not on the maze.
Beaches:
Dunwich
